Michigan was coming off of a disappointing 28-20 loss to Notre Dame (aren't all Michigan losses disappointing?) and somewhat unexpectedly starting the freshman quarterback and running back duo of Chad Henne and Mike Hart. Fortunately for the Wolverines, they still had senior Braylon Edwards.
With his fourth catch of the game, Edwards etched his name in the Michigan record book passing Marquise Walker for most career receptions. He would finish the day with eight receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns, including the third quarter game winner. Following that score, Garrett Rivas tacked on the final point of Michigan's 24-21 victory.
